Liberoarbitrio from the McCalin winery is a rosé wine purely vinified with local black grapes (Cerasuolo from Montepulciano grapes). It has a rather intense bouquet consisting of hints of various red fruits with blackcurrants, plums, violet and, in the finish, black pepper and liquorice. Finally, on tasting, it reveals itself as full-bodied and slightly tannic, typical characteristics of its grape variety of origin. Liberoarbitrio is ideal paired with appetizers and aperitifs based on white meat or oily fish. The McCalin winery is located in the province of Teramo, between the hills of Colonnella and Controguerra in the small town of Martinsicuro. The terroir on which the vines of this winery are rooted is mainly clayey; Federico Nardi's land ownership today totals about 2 hectares and is divided into five different vine varieties. The area where the winery is located boasts optimal climatic conditions for the growth of the vine thanks to the sun - almost always present - and the sea winds full of salt that give flavour to the grapes. From the beginning, with full respect for nature and the area, Federico chose to follow the regulations of organic and biodynamic farming, both in the vineyard and in the cellar.
In the vineyard, no chemical fertilisers and herbicides are used; the plants are left as free as possible to carry out their growth cycle. Only sulphur and copper are used to keep the underlying soil "neutral". In the cellar, only spontaneous fermentations take place, without the addition of yeasts other than those native to the blend and without temperature control. The refinement usually takes place in steel tanks or in barriques.
The McCalin winery creates a label for each plot of agricultural land. It mainly concerns indigenous blends of Passerina, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, Malvasia, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, recovering ancient clones of old grapes to best reflect the original flavours of the terroir.

In 2022, 650 bottles were produced.
